The Manta Lifestyle With Ecuadorian Coastal Properties
The Manta lifestyle is not for sissies. Here is a snipped of a day in the life with Ecuadorian Coastal Properties:
I wake up every morning to the smell of coffee coming from the penthouse kitchen overlooking Manta Beach where Lupita is quietly working to make breakfast and start the laundry for me. Lupita has worked with me now for four years and I could not do without her. She is more than our maid, she is part of the family. Being able to afford a maid is part of the Manta lifestyle we enjoy here in Ecuador. Even my son and his family have a day to day helper at their beachfront condo.
Full tummy and tennis shoes on, I make my way to the beach for an hour walk and run for exercise. I never have to worry about weather because it is always the same… clear and sunny. Manta is the driest and warmest location on the entire coast. I love it here and have made a very comfortable life for myself. There are other places on the coast that are nice as well, but none with a true rapidly growing city like Manta. This beachfront city has everything you could ask for in a retirement or business location.
Several days per week I go to the fish market for fresh shrimp, lobster, wahoo, blue marlin or whatever you can think of for the week. Most end up on my grill but some go into local cuisine made by Lupita. Oh, and let’s not forget the fruit and vegetable market where you can find anything you wish for, including fresh cheese, eggs, home made peanut butter, and hot salsas. Manta, Manabi produces over 80% of Ecuadors’ fruit and vegetables so we always are in good supply.
For fun there is an enormous amount of activities to do here. Of course you have the beach where you can walk, play volleyball, soccer, swim, snorkle, surf, boogie board, boating and ect. But did you know that you can be in a jungle in just 20 minutes south of Manta? Yes there are trails that you can take to observe howler monkeys, giant spiders, parrots and a wide variety of humming birds. You can even visit other beaches just a short distance away. Manta is directly in the middle of the coast and therefore you can be there rapidito. If you live either north or south, it can take you hours for these trips…
In addition to a beach lifestyle, I like going to movies at night and Manta has 8 theaters at this time in the local mall. Most anytime you can see at least 5 in English. The mall also contains 62 stores to catch your interest including clothing, hardware and computer stores. We also have full size grocery stores whom carries everything you need. Outside of Manta you will only see small corner stores that is lacking in most things we need or want. There is also a SUPERMALL being built right across the street from my home. This is slated to be as large as any mall in Quito or Guayaquil. It is an excellent opportunity for mall style stores to pop up and you could bring in something from North America that is doing well there.
